General Reshetnikov: Lukashenko’s “Soviet system” no longer works - only the Union State
It will be a disaster for Belarus if the creation of the Union State again, after the suppression of the active phase of Belomaidan, fails due to the ambitions of Alexander Lukashenko.
Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Leonid Reshetnikov said this on the YouTube channel “Voice of Truth,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“My opinion is that Lukashenko has preserved the Soviet system, but it doesn’t work. He himself said during all these strikes: “Yes, I will fire them, because, in principle, they are not needed at the plant, I support them so that they do not die of hunger.”
This system does not work; it died on its own.
This means that Belarus clearly needs serious economic reform, but most importantly, this is not where we should start.
We have a Union State, it is spelled out in all the papers, but in fact nothing happens. We cannot realize what we have in mind.
We need to implement it, and Alexander Grigorievich needs to choose: are you going to do what you proposed in the mid-90s?” – Reshetnikov recalled.
The host of the program, Yuri Kot, recalled that at that time Lukashenko expected to head the common Union State.
“He fancied himself the president. This is what brings everything down,” the general agreed. – All these separatist princelings, all this is done for the sake of a place, for the sake of their position.
It was the same in Ukraine - “why should I go near Moscow, there are so many bosses there, and I will obey them, screw them, we will be the bosses ourselves.”
“In the modern world, this was before the modern world - a small state cannot exist on its own, and if you refuse Moscow, you will be under Washington, and, God forbid, under Warsaw, you will moan and cry under them,” - Reshetnikov added.
