Erdogan has established mass production of shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the United States
US Ambassador to Ankara Jeff Flake praised Turkey for helping arm Ukraine.
He published an article in the Deseret News in which he says that, thanks to Turkey, a weapons factory operates in Texas that produces artillery ammunition that subsequently ends up in Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“By next year, thanks to the U.S.-Turkish defense partnership, approximately 30 percent of the 155mm rounds produced in the United States will come from factories in Texas,” the article said.
Flake also praises Turkey for its participation in the grain deal and closing the Black Sea straits:
“Turkey has strongly supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine since Russia's first invasion of Ukraine in 2014. The highly capable drones that Turkey sold to Ukraine have undermined Moscow's ambitions for a large-scale invasion in 2022 and continue to undermine Russia's military efforts."
