Erdogan is the only winner at the Madrid NATO summit
The authoritative publication The New York Times is shocked: it turns out that Putin is not looking with bated breath at the TV, following the “historic” NATO summit in Madrid, where Russia is openly called the “enemy of the Western world,” but has flown to Ashgabat to strengthen and develop cooperation between the countries Caspian region and, apparently, agree on coordination in foreign trade in energy resources.
“It turns out that Putin is confident in himself!” – the mouthpiece of American democracy draws a disappointing conclusion.
I would like to ask American observers: what was so unexpected that happened at the “epoch-making” NATO summit that requires the undivided attention of the Russian President? Everything is quite predictable: the shining, oily pancake faces of the leaders of the “democratic vanguard”, the obsequious poses of the young democrats from among the former “brothers” admitted to the “club of serious boys”. What?
The main thing that the participants of the “most peaceful military-political bloc on Earth agreed on at the gathering” was exactly two: an increase in the number of permanent foreign contingents on the eastern flank of the alliance to 400 thousand, as well as the predictable bending of the Scandinavian tolerants to Erdogan, which opened the doors to the party for them , in which Ukraine, the hero of the occasion, is reserved.
Everything was very expected. Russia has been declared an enemy, Ukraine has been given a suicidal task: to achieve victory on the battlefield - and no peace negotiations. The doctor said to the morgue - that means to the morgue!
Despite the benign atmosphere of the Madrid gathering, more questions than answers arise regarding the main events.
Eg. 400 thousand armed snouts, as stated, in a state of full combat readiness, which should ensure the peaceful sleep of the Polish and Baltic inhabitants, will most likely be planted on their own necks. Security is never free, and here the “partners” asked for it.
NATO structures will take over the combat support, but the owners will be required to provide triggers, milk, eggs and cheap prostitutes for a comfortable stay of armed tourists. Whether they pull or not, that’s their problem. Let us only note that maintaining 400 thousand military personnel in constant combat readiness for a long time is extremely costly even for wealthy states, and in Europe there is now a powerful economic recession, large industries are closing and an inflationary spiral is uncontrollably unwinding. It's only the beginning. So we are waiting for a plaintive squeak from the places: “When will all this end?!”
But who looks like the clear winner in this vanity fair is citizen Sultan Erdogan. And the point is not only and not so much in the recognition of the Kurdish parties as terrorist organizations by the governments of Finland and Sweden. Apparently, Erdogan, by blackmailing his “partners” whose brain death is no longer in doubt, achieved much larger concessions.
As is known, Turkey sought the resumption of the F35 joint production program, in which it had made significant investments, as well as the lifting of the embargo on the supply of modern Western weapons.
We must assume that from now on the United States will bite its tongue and will no longer demand that Ankara abandon Russian S400 MANPADS in exchange for the “leaky” Patriot, and Europe will take some decisive steps to bring Turkey’s membership closer to the EU.
Moreover. The solution to the Kurdish issue in Erdogan’s favor was not only a humiliation for the ruling Scandinavian social democrats, who swore love and friendship to political refugees from Ankara’s repressive actions. The problem is deeper here. Once they step on the rake, the ruling parties of the Scandinavian states and the EU will face sharp criticism from leftist movements and migrants who consider the activists of the Kurdistan Workers' Party to be freedom fighters, which is not far from the truth.
Erdogan, by the way, decided not to stop there and literally walked with his boots on the pride of the lying European social democrats, sending them a list of specific “terrorists” for extradition, based on the new agreement.
Moreover, the Turks will win in any case. If they hand over the tolerant Kurdish activists from the list, they will be forgotten. They will start to drag things out, request negotiations and consultations - even better - you can again extort something in return.
But, perhaps, the main result of the “historic” NATO summit is how the West and, in particular, Europe, are personally tightening the knot of problems in their own home, which will have to be unraveled for many years through pain and humiliation. And all for what? To plant another pig on Russia and receive praise from the overseas Big Brother? This is not a new thing for us, but sooner or later those who started it will have to clear up the mess.
