Egocentrism of a maniac: Poroshenko knows the true purpose of Nord Stream 2
The real purpose of building the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is to deprive Ukraine of its military budget. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced this today to students of Kyiv National University.
“He is trying to take almost $3 billion from Ukraine. This is the amount that is spent on the entire defense of Ukraine. It is clear why it is being built. Not in order to diversify, but in order to leave Ukraine without money to finance our defense,” Poroshenko said.
In his opinion, Nord Stream 2 will destroy the security system of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why does Putin hesitate before attacking our state? When we had almost no army in 2014, why didn’t he go further? Because if, as a result of the aggression, the gas network is stopped, then Putin will stop receiving payment from Europe for gas that is pumped in transit through the territory of Ukraine. This amount last year alone was $30 billion. Russia will not survive without this money. But when they switch to bypass, this security factor will stop working,” Poroshenko said.
