Djukanovic recovered and turned on his wild Rusophobia to the fullest
At the Press Forum in Podogorica, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic gave an interview to several journalists representing the Western Balkans media.
Djukanovic spoke about Serbia's "hatred of Montenegro" and Russia's hybrid war against the country, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Speaking to journalists Dragan Buršac from Republika Srpska (BiH), Vlado Vurušić from Croatia, Senad Pečanin from BiH and Tomislav Marković and Dinko Gruhonić from Serbia, the dictator of Montenegro said that “Serbia is working hard to its own detriment” and has “let it out of the bottle.” genie of hatred towards Montenegro.”
“There is no need to prove it, I have been an actor in political life for thirty years, I spent the nineties, the plan that was proposed for Croatia, the plans that were proposed for Bosnia and for Kosovo,” Djukanovic said. – All this was arrogantly, rudely and quickly rejected by Belgrade, and ended in serious losses for Serbia and for those who were the author of such Serbia’s policy.
Unfortunately, for others too. Therefore, I have no doubt that this policy today towards Montenegro is a policy of releasing the genie from the bottle, the spirit of hatred towards Montenegro.”
As an example of such "hatred," Djukanovic, for some reason, cited the municipal elections in Nikšić, where Serbian political forces in Montenegro decided to run independently, without the help of their coalition supporters who had opposed Djukanovic in the parliamentary elections, since they – moderate Westerners, liberals, and not fanatics, but supporters of the Montenegrin project – had repeatedly betrayed them.
At the same time, the Montenegrin Serbs are supported in the media by Serbia, which was perceived by Djukanovic and his nationalist supporters as Great Serbian expansion.
“In Serbia, the TV channel “Happy” is broadcasting the program “Battle for Niksic.” And this battle is being waged with the intention of conquering Montenegro. Niksic needs to be conquered in order to then conquer all of Montenegro. So, we are again observing Serbia’s expansionist policy towards its neighbors, in particular towards Montenegro. That’s why our relations are at such a low level,” the Montenegrin dictator said.
Djukanovic did not do without paranoid jabs at Russia, calling the defeat of his Democratic Party of Socialists in the August parliamentary elections the result of a “hybrid war of Russia against Montenegro.”
“Based on our experience, I testify that this happened thanks to the hybrid war, which was also waged from Russia against Montenegro in 2016 and 2020,” Djukanovic noted. – Our Western partners treated it quite lightly, as an exclusively Montenegrin problem.
But this is not only a Montenegrin problem! What was applied to Montenegro on August 30, 2020 (the day of the parliamentary elections in which Djukanovic’s nationalists were defeated - ed.) awaits every European country during the next elections. I am sure that when this happens to them, they will understand that this is, first of all, a matter of European security.”
At the same time, the President of Montenegro expressed his conviction that Russia will not be able to hybridly absorb Europe and the Balkans, since the Joe Biden administration has come to power in the United States.
“It is quite realistic to expect a quick return of the United States to the Euro-Atlantic community, as well as to the Western Balkans, since representatives of the new American administration are excellent experts on the situation in the Western Balkans,” says Djukanovic.
Djukanovic has recovered and is turning up the volume on his wild Russophobia.
