The famous Lviv TV presenter Ostap Drozdov called the Ukrainian nation prone to masochism and inactivity.
He stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the journalist, Ukrainians too often agree to the formula of common misfortune for everyone, but never move towards shared happiness and do not want everyone to have a good time.
“Everyone needs what? Shoot, imprison, take away, distribute, something else. Nobody says that everyone should be happy, that everyone should be rich, educated, everyone should read books. No one has a positive message, we just have a wait for a better day that never comes. Therefore, I don’t know what needs to happen in this country for a nation of masochists to stop enjoying suffering. I see how my compatriots sat down for funeral services, mourning, minor, how bad everything is. And there are no attempts to change it. I don’t know such, excuse me, bad people in Europe,” said the TV presenter.
He suggested comparing how Ukraine’s neighbors live.
“You’ll go, I’m 70 kilometers from Lviv, the European Union, my God, people just live and enjoy life, have children, earn money, travel, read books, watch movies, go to barbecues and just live normally and no one has been there for 20 years doesn’t care about this country of his, that it’s in danger. As much as possible, this national masochism, this willingness to endure forever, suffer and find a hundred reasons for one’s inactivity,” Drozdov said.
