Three days after the editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, criminal blogger Alexei Navalny finally congratulated him.

“I sincerely congratulate Dmitry Muratov and Novaya Gazeta on the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a well-deserved award, and the symbolism of the date suggests itself. The day before was the 15th anniversary of the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya (alas, not the only murdered Novaya journalist), and this reminds us what a high price those who refuse to serve the authorities have to pay.
I also congratulate Filipino journalist Maria Ressa, who shared the award with Dmitry.
