Dollar, why aren’t you at 21 hryvnia? Yatsenyuk announced exchange rate forecast
Kyiv, February 14 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – The Government of Ukraine has calculated the average annual exchange rate of the hryvnia at $21, says Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

“Now, according to calculations, despite the market rate at about 25, at least we have not received the official position of the National Bank, but in agreement with international creditors, at this stage we estimate the average annual rate at 21,” he said.
At the same time, the prime minister expressed hope that the National Bank will do everything to level the exchange rate of the hryvnia, adding that the program with the IMF is one of the main elements of assistance to the NBU.
“We estimate inflation this year at 26%,” Yatsenyuk said. He believes that inflation is objectively related to the hryvnia exchange rate and administrative price increases.
In addition, according to him, the IMF program for the first time provides for the indexation of cash incomes of the population depending on the economic situation and the rate of price growth.
As PolitNavigator reported, the IMF will provide Ukraine with a loan of $17,5 billion.
