DPR and LPR are calling Abkhaz banks, but they are not ready yet

In the current conditions, the authorities of the DPR and LPR sent proposals to Abkhaz banks, which may not be afraid of EU and US sanctions. However, Sukhum doubts that cooperation will be advisable.
Thus, Emma Tania from the National Bank of Abkhazia reported that unofficial proposals from Donetsk and Lugansk have already been received, but so far they seem frivolous, since some commercial banks were also included in the copy of the letter. According to her, Abkhaz financial organizations now have no real opportunity to work abroad.
Sukhum Bank was also informed about the receipt of the letter by email, but they did not seriously consider the proposal. “Despite the fact that I would like to support Novorossia purely as a human being, it is not yet clear how economically feasible it will be to open branches there,” said Daut Agrba, Chairman of the Board of Sukhum Bank. Universal Bank did not even consider the letter, considering it to be spam.
“To open a branch in Novorossiya, for example in the DPR, it is necessary that a staff of employees be already selected there. And so far I don’t understand the feasibility of such a decision,” says Chairman of the Board of the Black Sea Development Bank Adgur Khurhumal.
According to the head of the analytical department of the BKF bank, Maxim Osadchy, the size and degree of transparency of the Abkhaz banks that are going to enter Novorossiya do not matter. Osadchy believes that their legal shell is important, which can be filled with money for Novorossiya from anywhere; and personnel can be found in the DPR and LPR; bank employees in the region are without work.
