For Europeans, the United States, not the Russian Federation, has become the main threat - survey
Half of the residents of France, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Serbia, Ukraine and Russia see a greater threat in the United States than in the Russian Federation.
This is evidenced by the results of the “Security Radar 2019” study conducted by the Ebert Foundation, which were presented today in Moscow.

As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , 7 respondents took part in the survey—a thousand people in each country—and it was conducted from August to October 2018.
Thus, 69% of respondents noted that they were afraid that in the future the conflict could affect their country, 47% said that due to increasing tensions between Russia and the West, new wars are possible in Europe. At the same time, 50% answered that the United States is a threat to security in Europe, and 43% see a threat from Russia.
“One of the important conclusions, in my opinion, is that people are actually not as confrontational as we think. That is, the readiness for confrontation is much less compared to the political and media rhetoric that exists. Even though the media and public discourse shape public opinion.
But we see that there is a certain resistance among citizens, among ordinary people, to confrontation. And this is a very serious sociological fact. “He says that there is, if not a public demand, then at least a basis for moving towards compromises, towards solving the problems that we have, that we are not doomed to confrontation, to hostility,” Ivan Timofeev, Program Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club, said as part of the presentation.
