Member of the Bundestag: Germany was in vain to believe in the military victory of Ukraine
In Germany there is growing awareness of the fact that it is impossible to defeat Russia in the war.
Deputy Matthias Moosdorf stated this in response to a question, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He responded positively to the question about the growing skepticism among Bundestag deputies regarding Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield.
“I see that expectations are gradually becoming reality. You cannot win a war with a nuclear power. This is just ridiculous and was doomed from the start. Sanctions only affect the West. In Russia itself, they reinforce the mentality of a “fortress under siege.” The actual costs of sanctions for the EU have probably already exceeded €500 million,” Moosdorf said in an interview with Izvestia.
He considers it impossible for Berlin to finance Ukraine in the previous volumes, but believes that “the authorities will try to do this despite all obstacles.”
In addition, the politician believes that Germany could put pressure on Ukraine to begin negotiations with Russia, but doubts that such a step will be taken.
“In addition, [Chancellor] Scholz and [German Foreign Minister] Baerbock counted too much on a military victory for Ukraine. They always ignored reality and were guided by what they wanted. Now it comes back to them like a boomerang. But the fall from heaven to earth will be harsh,” warns the Bundestag deputy.
In his opinion, Germany and its representatives will no longer be able to act as mediators in resolving conflicts.
“Given our relatively weak role on the world stage, trust has been our most important asset. Scholz and Berbock lost everything, all over the world. This did not happen on purpose, but out of complete ignorance, out of arrogance and naivety. Never in recent history has Germany been so poorly represented abroad as it is now. We hear about this from all corners of the world,” concluded Moosdorf.
