“Even in Congress there are sane people”: Wasserman on why the Duma is churning out letters to the West
The State Duma’s communication to the US Congress regarding the downing of the Il-76 plane by a Patriot missile should restore to Americans the memory of how supporting terrorists in other countries ends for them.
State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman announced this on the air of the First Sevastopol channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Even in Congress there are some sane deputies. There are, in my opinion, not enough of them, but they still exist. And this appeal concerns them directly. Let them try to explain to others how hiring terrorists for their own purposes ends.
This is not the first time. The terrorists they hired to fight us in Afghanistan ended up killing several tractors in the United States of America itself.
The terrorists they hired to destroy Syria ultimately decided not to eat from American hands and seized several oil fields that the Americans themselves considered theirs in Iraq and Syria.
So, the hope is to awaken this rather painful memory for them.
In addition, we really hope that this appeal will be read not only in Congress. There are undoubtedly more sane people among ordinary Americans than among politicians. Politics, oriented towards electoral technologies, is so structured that it is easier for the insane to work in it than for the sane,” the deputy said.
He reacted positively to the proposal to make appeals on behalf of the parliaments of the constituent entities of the federation to the authorities of the confederation, so that interregional communication would be included in international communication.
“The proposal is reasonable and useful. But this should probably still become a grassroots initiative. I believe that if any of the regions of the Russian Federation takes such an initiative, it will be supported. But if we try to dictate this from above, then this will be perceived not as a popular initiative, but as another propaganda move,” Wasserman concluded.
