Even now Lukashenko does not give up multi-vector
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko continues to be a supporter of a multi-vector foreign policy.
He stated this at a meeting with deputies, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Our multi-vector approach is based on economic interests. We are an export-oriented country, and we have nowhere to go. Multi-vectorism is not, as various experts sometimes understand, that one vector is to the west, the other to the east. No, multi-vector is the ability of the state to act in all directions. If they are trying to curtail the western vector through no fault of ours, well, our main partner in the east is fraternal Russia. Our trade with the People's Republic of China is growing very seriously. We are working on a very serious area of cooperation with India,” Lukashenko said.
If the EU imposes sanctions, he hopes to compensate for this with more intensive cooperation with Asian countries.
“Everything is not bad at all. To be honest, it’s even unexpectedly good today in the foreign economic vector. In fact, if the West doesn’t want to be our neighbor, it shouldn’t. We compensate for the sanctions by our active actions in other areas and markets. Let's replace an inexorably aging Europe with a rapidly growing Asia. Psychologically, our society is ready to become part of the new Eurasia, its outpost,” Lukashenko said.
