Emergency in Ternopil region: a train derailed because the tracks were stolen
In the Ternopil region, as a result of thieves stealing materials from the upper structure of the track, a suburban diesel train derailed, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ukrzaliznytsia website reports this.
The emergency occurred at 15:20 on March 27 at 20 km of the Gusyatin - Kopychintsy section.
Two cars of the commuter train No. 6285 Gusyatin - Chertkov derailed.
It is noted that as a result of the incident, none of the passengers or railway workers were injured.
“The train passengers were delivered to their destination. Special units of the Lviv Railway promptly carried out emergency restoration work. At about 21:00 on March 27, traffic in the area was restored,” the message says.
The fact of illegal interference in the work of the railway was reported to the prosecutor's office and the SBU. Criminal proceedings have been initiated on this fact.
It is noted that since the beginning of 2018, 916 cases of illegal interference in the work of the railway have been recorded, and 286 people have been detained.
