Montenegrin Serbs defeated dictator Djukanovic's party in the country's second city
The Serbian bloc “For the Future of Niksic,” in a coalition with moderate liberal forces that previously formed the country’s government, defeated the nationalist coalition “European Team Niksic.”
It is characteristic that Montenegrin Serbs, after the betrayal of their coalition allies, went to the elections independently, but they will have to form a majority with them in the municipal Assembly.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the defeat in Niksic was a serious failure for the nationalist Democratic Party of Socialists of President Milo Djukanovic, who previously completely controlled this second largest city in Montenegro.
According to the local Monitoring Centre (CeMI), the "European Team of Nikšić", the backbone of which is made up of functionaries of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), gained 40,4% of the votes in the municipal elections, the bloc "For the Future of Nikšić", formed on the basis of the Serbian Democratic Front - 25,9%, the bloc of the speaker of the Assembly of Montenegro Aleks Bečić "Peace - Our Nation" - 23,2%, the bloc of the deputy speaker of the Montenegrin government Dritan Abazović "From Black to White" - 4,5%, and the People's Movement of the scandalous businessman Miodrag "Daka" Davidović - 3,3%.

Kosovo Serbs congratulate the Montenegrins on their victory in Niksic.
“It’s a great honor for me to be at the head of this coalition, and I will never give up on these people,” said Marko Kovacevic, leader of the For the Future of Niksic bloc. – I will be the mayor of the Niksic municipality from the coalition “For the Future of Niksic”, and not from any other coalition. The Democratic Front, which forms the core of this bloc, has been leading the resistance in Montenegro for 30 years and has never given up.”
In turn, the leader of the Serbian Democratic Front Andrija Mandić, commenting on the defeat of the DPS, noted that this victory would put an end to the omnipotence of the Djukanovic clique:
“This is a great victory that dashed all the expectations of the traffic police and representatives of organized crime,” noted the Serbian politician. - Because they were convinced that they would win. Now, together with the third-place bloc of Prime Minister Krivokapic and Assembly Speaker Aleksa Becic, we will be able to form a regional government.”
At the same time, the chairman of the Movement for Change, a member of the Serbian Democratic Front and member of the Assembly, Nebojša Medojević, was less politically correct in relation to yesterday's allies, who, for the sake of loyalty to the West, betrayed the political leaders of the Montenegrin Serbs.
“We defeated the president of the state, the prime minister and the chairman of the Assembly, the embassy, the media concern Vijesti, the NVO, the NSA (secret services - ed.), the police and all the intact structures of the old regime... We have our own ideology, program, ideas and people. And most importantly, we have our loyal voters!!! The elections in Niksic showed that the government, in which 90 percent of the membership belongs to the URA (moderate liberal pro-Western movement of Dritan Abazovic - ed.) and the owners of Vijesti, is unstable, and that the demands of the Democratic Front to reformat the government are justified and legitimate,” the politician wrote in facebook.
