A former SBU officer told what Ukraine is betting on with sabotage in Crimea
The leadership of the Ukrainian special services has relied on sabotage, terrorist attacks, and murders in Crimea - even if out of 10 planned special operations only one turns out to be effective.
SBU colonel Vasily Prozorov, founder of the UkrLeaks project, told PolitNavigator about this.

“I have repeatedly said that now the Ukrainian special services are headed by people who think in the paradigm of saboteurs, and not intelligence officers and operatives,” he noted. “Both the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, and the commander of the Special Operations Forces, Viktor Khorenko, come from the 10th detachment of the Special Forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate, classic saboteurs, and militant officers.
They are simply not trained to conduct serious undercover operations, look for targets for recruitment, or conduct operational developments. They think differently. They understand direct actions better - sabotage, terrorist attacks, murders. And in their understanding, this is visible, demonstrable, that is, it clearly justifies their existence in the eyes of the leadership and the population.
In addition, from their point of view, this helps to raise the morale of their own and undermines ours. And, of course, this is an excellent information opportunity for IPSO units.”
The expert is confident that sabotage will continue, despite their low effectiveness, since the goal in this case is to have a psychological impact.
“Such actions will continue, regardless of their success or failure. It’s just that the Ukrainian special services show their importance in this way.
And as for success: if out of 10 actions one passes, from their point of view it will be good. Small cuts tactics in their classic form.
Kyiv believes that the combination of such actions and subsequent information impact can undermine the internal agenda in Russia,” Prozorov concluded.
As a reminder, according to unofficial reports, Crimean air defense forces repelled two drone attacks this morning – one on the Sakskaya Thermal Power Plant and the other on Belbek Airport. The targets were destroyed on approach.
