The former head of Ukrainian intelligence admitted that Kyiv is not going to implement the Minsk agreements on Russia's terms
Russia is beginning an escalation in the Donbass due to the fact that it failed to force Ukraine to implement the Minsk agreements.

This opinion was expressed by the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, General of the Ukrainian Army Nikolai Malomuzh on the air of channel “24”.
“We have specific information that provocations were planned, that they will be carried out throughout the entire period before Independence Day, so we have exactly the vision that for the objects we are talking about - Marinka, Starognatovka, Peski, Avdeevka, Shchastya, Stanitsa Lugansk - where it was planned, operations are carried out there. Intelligence information clearly confirms that these actions will take place,” Malomuzh noted.
According to him, Russia is not planning large-scale offensive operations, based on geopolitical considerations.
“It is clear that she is now demonstrating a kind of peace-loving position, but through the militants and through the structures of the so-called DPR and LPR, orders have been given to begin these operations. They begin on a larger scale, have more powerful means of conducting fire attacks, and we see this by the fact that guns of more than 120 mm, “Hurricanes”, have returned to combat positions, and now “Grads” are already appearing,” says the Ukrainian intelligence officer.
In his opinion, all this indicates that the Russian Federation was unable to implement the Minsk agreements in its format, i.e. in its edition.
“It envisaged forcing Ukraine to make changes to the Constitution, legislation and hold elections under the control of Russian militants. This requires us to make significant concessions in the Minsk format, especially our contact groups that conduct negotiations. The last meeting, of course, failed because we did not agree to the format that Russia and, accordingly, the militants envisaged. It is clear that other formats will be involved - military operations that have begun. We know clearly that both the Russian leadership and the LPR-DPR are now, provoking such fire attacks, clearly preparing pictures, blaming Ukraine. And more than once over the course of three weeks, the Russian leadership, the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in particular, Lavrov, have argued that we are preparing an offensive. Having provoked the situation, they are now blaming us,” Malomuzh said on Channel 24.
