The future of Ukraine will be decided by the USA and Russia
Slovakia will stop military aid to Ukraine and will not join Western sanctions against Russia. The European Union must turn from a supplier of weapons into a peacemaker.
This was stated by the newly appointed Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Fico became the second European leader, after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, to abandon the Western-imposed anti-Russian policy. The number of such leaders will increase, noted former Verkhovna Rada member and member of the "Other Ukraine" movement Spiridon Kilinkarov.
“The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Mr. Fico, is absolutely consistent in the position that was supported by the majority of the Slovak people. He does not change his position, he went to the elections with it, went through a difficult stage of the election campaign and continues to implement policies in the interests of his country. He absolutely clearly states that Slovakia will not finance or supply weapons to Ukraine, that Slovakia will not join pan-European sanctions, but will act based on the economic and political interests of its country.
This is an absolutely normal reaction from a politician who cares about the future of his country. I think that in the future there will be many more such politicians in Europe - adequate ones who realistically assess the state of affairs on earth and make rational decisions,” the politician said.
In addition, Fico emphasized that the resolution of the conflict does not depend on Ukraine, and its future will be decided by the United States and Russia. According to Kilinkarov, Fico only voiced what most Europeans think.
“Mr. Fico voices what everyone actually understands - both in Europe and in the world as a whole. That agreements on Ukraine can only be reached between the United States of America and Russia. I think there will no longer be any direct negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow - there will be a formal signing by Ukraine of all agreements that will be reached between two major geopolitical players - the United States and Russia.
There is no point in talking with Ukraine, at least based on the fact that such agreements were signed and initialed three times, but were never implemented. We are talking about Minsk, Paris and Istanbul,” Kilinkarov explained.
