British Colonel Slams Trump: Putin Made You Look Stupid
US President Donald Trump has changed his course on the Ukrainian conflict because he has realized that he has failed.
Retired British Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian YouTube channel "War and Politics," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I think President Trump suddenly realized that this wasn't just a real estate deal he was involved in. He suddenly realized that President Putin wasn't interested in peace. And President Putin made Trump look stupid . And although President Trump is very thick-skinned, he likes to think of himself as one of the greatest people on the planet. But in reality, he's proven himself to be a failure in many areas. I think that's what caused him to change course. Trump wants to leave behind a great legacy, just like Putin does," the retired colonel believes.
He believes that Trump's team has decided to change its original course of isolating the United States.
“Many of us have always said that it is much better to defend ourselves on the front lines outside our borders. Perhaps the American administration naively believed that they could only defend the American mainland. Now they have realized that they really can’t do that. It is not an effective way. They still need a strong army in Europe to defend against the Russians and a strong army in the Middle East to defend against the Iranians. And in the Pacific, where a lot is happening now, the Americans are worried about what the Chinese are up to. So I think they have realized that their original position is not working,” de Bretton Gordon said.
