Belomaidan showed that Russia will no longer leave anyone at the mercy of the West - Kalashnikov
The failed coup attempt in Belarus is of great importance for the whole world, because all of Russia’s partners saw that Moscow was no longer going to leave its allies alone with the West.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“For the first time in the post-Soviet space, Russia clearly intervened and did not allow the West to so easily and naturally remove the president with such human flows as 100 - 200 thousand people.
I remember how they filmed in Georgia, how Saakashvili came, I remember in Armenia, Kyrgyzstan twice, Ukraine twice. Russia behaved “okay, let’s admit it.” This is the first time we have done this,” the politician emphasized.
The deputy also added that this event is of great importance for the whole world, because now Russia’s partners will be confident that if the West attempts to carry out a color revolution, the Russian Federation will come to their defense.
"What does it matter? Except indirectly for Belarus, where the president was not removed, and the person is holding on and will continue to hold on. This is of great importance - our partners in the East and Central Asia are finally beginning to understand that they can rely on Russia, they can rely on it if the West behaves this way not only in relation to the Union State,” Kalashnikov noted.
