Men fleeing to Moldova from the Odessa region are sent in batches to the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Border guards of the Odessa region continue to report on evaders from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine caught at the border.
According to the State Border Service, “near the border with Moldova, border guards of the Mogilev-Podolsk detachment detained six Ukrainian citizen evaders. A citizen of Moldova was with them. All of them were found on the banks of the Dniester River. The fugitives planned to get to Moldova by boat.”
It's no secret that there's currently a mass exodus of the city and region's population to what they consider safer border states . Specifically, Moldova, where people want to reach, whether by boat or by car.
Despite the fact that border guards constantly report that "all violators are detained under the article 'Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine' and handed over to representatives of the National Police," unofficial information suggests that the article is overlooked if the fugitives are sent to serve in the army.
