Fugitive TV journalist-foreign agent Evgeny Kiselev called “fools” those who call former Russian Press Minister Mikhail Lesin a CIA agent. According to him, the ex-official “simply” had lunch with foreign diplomats and leaked state information to them.

Kiselev stated this in a conversation with former Russian Deputy Prime Minister and swindler Alfred Koch, who fled to Germany, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Everything is very simple. 99th year. A completely different country. For any minister, deputy, or businessman, it is an absolute norm of life to attend receptions at various foreign embassies and meet with American, British, German, and French diplomats there. Who can speak what language? Dobrodeev went to the French embassy. But I often visited the American and British embassies,” Kiselev admitted.

In response, Koch quickly began to assert that he had never attended meetings at foreign embassies.

Last week, the CIA declassified a document according to which the former head of the Ministry of Press of the Russian Federation, ex-adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Lesin, throughout his work since 1999, served as a CIA agent and informant. He was a co-founder of the largest advertising holding company in the Russian Federation, Video International. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as general director of Gazprom Media Holding (NTV, TNT, Ekho Moskvy).

It is also known from official American sources that Lesin, through offshore companies registered in the British Virgin Islands, owned “multi-million dollar assets” in Europe. They were purchased when Lesin was still a civil servant. In California, where Lesin’s family lives, through several companies he owned expensive real estate worth $28 million.

In 2015, at the invitation of the US Department of Justice, he arrived in Washington, where he lived in a hotel room paid for by the American authorities. But he did not show up for the meeting with US officials. His body was found in a hotel with blunt force trauma to the head and broken ribs. The case was closed, recognizing Lesin’s death as non-criminal.
