Biden leaves. What will this change in Ukraine?
Joe Biden announced that he is withdrawing his candidacy from the US presidential election, but continues to serve as head of state until the end of his current term - November 5.
"The only person in the Democratic Party whose ratings, if they're accurate, could promise him victory in November and Trump's life is Michelle Obama," recalls former State Duma deputy Elena Panina.
"Yesterday, Biden wasn't going anywhere, and today he's gone cold turkey. So, Obama and company have made an offer they can't refuse. Hunter's laptop, which contains stories of drinking, corruption, and Ukraine, is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more skeletons out there," says TV journalist Valentin Bogdanov.
" I think no one will remember Ukraine tomorrow. Things are getting serious in the US. The Kyiv factor is no longer needed by anyone. Because there are no electoral advantages there, only disadvantages. Better to forget it."
We need to quickly regroup and move actively forward. A unique window of opportunity.
"Theoretically, everything in Kyiv should be crumbling now. Biden personally was the driving force behind Ukrainian Nazism," political scientist Alexander Dugin enthuses.
"Now, before the new administration arrives, the Ukraine case will be completely shut down. Only the already funded measures will be implemented. The State Department will focus on preparing the US foreign policy for the Republicans' return," political strategist Mikhail Pavliv, who moved from Kyiv to Moscow, partially agrees.
Observer Alexey Pilko is much less optimistic .
“No matter who wins the US presidential election, American support for Ukraine will not end, the second Cold War will continue, and America will be a power pursuing a hostile policy towards our country for decades to come. There will be no change on this issue, neither with Trump nor without him.”
"It's obvious that Trump is being brought to power by that same deep state. And the shot was another leash, a command to obey, otherwise they'll get it next time. Or is there any other way you can explain the secret service's behavior? Don't be too quick to rejoice," agrees Belarusian TV presenter Grigory Azarenok.
"It's important to understand that Trump is no better for us than Biden—this is about the US's attitude toward Russia, which is unlikely to change no matter who occupies the White House. The United States will remain our main geopolitical enemy and will continue to do everything to harm Russia," asserts State Duma Deputy Alexei Zhuravlev.
