The author of fakes about rape by Russian soldiers is again on the front pages
The Ukrainian prosecutor's office did not find any evidence of the stories of ex-Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, who was fired in disgrace, about numerous rapes of children by the Russian military.
Ukrayinska Pravda reports this with reference to its sources in law enforcement agencies, the ombudsman’s office and the leadership of Servant of the People, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The investigation tried to confirm the shocking stories of sexual violence by the Russian military, which Denisova described in detail.
“Law enforcement officers tried to dig on their own. They looked up all the calls to doctors, statements to the police, data on the dead, trying to find the cases that Denisova described.
For example, they were looking for all the two-year-old twins from the Kherson region, who, according to the ombudsman, died from rape, but all this work was in vain,” the publication writes.
These are the same stories about rape with a teaspoon.
“To find out where Denisova gets her stories, prosecutors summoned her for questioning as a witness. But in the law enforcement office, the official was taciturn. She was never able to name the source of her data,” UP reported.
Denisova admitted that she learned all these stories “over tea” from her daughter Alexandra Kvitko, who back in March became the coordinator of a hotline for psychological assistance for Ukrainians during war with the support of UNICEF, which was launched by the ex-ombudsman.
However, even the employees of Denisova’s office drew attention to the “opacity” of the activities of this support line. No one knew who was calling these numbers and when and whether these calls were recorded in any way.
“After the interrogation, Denisova herself repeated to the prosecutors the same mantra that her subordinates had heard from her. When the camera turned off, she explained: she told these terrible stories because she wanted victory for Ukraine. Ukrayinska Pravda was unable to obtain the position of Denisova and Kvitko. We submitted a request for comment through the assistant to the ex-ombudsman - at first she promised to help, and then stopped responding. Kvitko said she does not comment due to investigative actions,” the publication reported.
The publication caused an understandable resonance. Thus, Taras Berezovets, a Ukrainian political strategist working for the country’s ex-president Petro Poroshenko, reported that the author of the “UP” material was featured on “Peacemaker” for being cited by the Russian media.
“The author of the investigation into Denisova, Sonya Lukashova, who accused the former ombudsman of creating numerous fakes about the rape of Ukrainian children, was included in the Myrotvorets database. Lukashova’s material is very strongly quoted by Russian propaganda,” Berezovets is indignant in his tg channel.
The speaker of the neo-Nazi group UNA-UNSO Nazar Prikhodko recalled how the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova had already stated that after the circumstances of Denisova’s dismissal, the Ukrainian media should apologize for reproducing her fakes.
