In its statement, the US Embassy asserts that “the main obstacle to the European future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is Dodik and his destructive policies.”

“Milorad Dodik claims he is ready to join the EU, but his support for Vladimir Putin and Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine, his anti-Dayton rhetoric and actions, and attacks on institutions at the BiH level that are necessary to move the country towards Euro-Atlantic integration , refute Dodik’s statements,” the Americans’ note says.

In response, Milorad Dodik responded with caustic words, aiming his attack directly at the US Ambassador to BiH, the openly gay Michael Murphy.

“I'm glad Murphy is alive. I was already starting to worry; he hadn’t been around for several days. This morning he announced himself, revealing that he lives in a parallel universe, completely separate from the reality in which Bosnia and Herzegovina lives. It's not healthy.

I read Ambassador Murphy's message and the question that immediately comes to mind is: “Did you want something? (and it’s none of your business).” With every appeal, the US Embassy, its allies and supporters confirm how much they really care about preserving the colonial status of BiH,” the President of Republika Srpska wrote on his page on one of the banned social networks.

The leader of the Bosnian Serbs also said that he would continue to maintain relations with the Russian president.

“It is my responsibility to meet and collaborate with everyone while assessing the interests of the constituents I represent. Therefore, I believe that there is no reason not to meet and not to deepen ties with the President of the Russian Federation. And there are no big secrets here - we are open to everyone who respects our right to decide their own destiny.

The Russian Federation has not tried and has never been a factor in the split in Bosnia and Herzegovina, not to mention interfering in our European integration or laws,” Dodik noted, suggesting that the United States should not wage “its own wars behind our backs.”
