US Senator: We must profit from Ukraine and not allow the Russians to return
The peace agreement must ensure economic benefits for Western countries, as well as guarantees for an independent Ukraine so that Russia cannot, if necessary, start a new SVO.
US Senator Dave McCormick, a former military officer who participated in Operation Desert Storm, stated this at the Aspen Security Forum, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“ We need to conclude a security agreement, mainly with the participation of Europeans, which would give Ukraine confidence in its future sovereignty.
In other words, whatever the outcome, this should not be a two-year hiatus during which the Russians could rearm and return.
Therefore, permanent security guarantees and support must be established, primarily with European participation. The Europeans should assume this responsibility, and America should provide intelligence and equipment, but not troops. This seemed reasonable to me.
There must be an economic component, because Ukraine has many mineral resources and needs to develop its potential. America will partially benefit from this . Ukraine will too.
This will not only help recoup the money spent, but will also strengthen America's position ," McCormick said.
