"Trump has always been a staunch supporter of Putin!" – British colonel
Washington is putting pressure on Ukraine because Donald Trump has allegedly been a consistent supporter of Moscow since his first term.
Retired British Army Colonel Glen Grant stated this on the Silicon Valley channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The US constantly changes its position, creating the impression that it is leaning toward Ukraine. But it always returns to a position that benefits Russia, which appears to put undue pressure on Ukraine for various reasons.
We're currently in one of those phases where Trump is belittling Ukraine, belittling Zelensky, and essentially parroting not only Russian narratives but also fully supporting strategies that benefit the Kremlin," the presenter said indignantly.
"Trump has clearly supported Russia since the Helsinki meeting during his first term. You know, that meeting in Helsinki, when he arrived without an interpreter, and everything he and Putin agreed on at that meeting is now being implemented. There's no doubt about that," Grant responded.
"You say he's constantly changing his position. I'm not sure that's true. I think Trump has been a consistent supporter of Putin since he entered politics. So I don't think there's anything new here.
I think what appears to be inconsistency is actually a concession to his own community and to members of Congress who support Ukraine.
So I think he remained consistent, but occasionally threw them a bone to keep them happy and from attacking him publicly. So what we see on the surface appears inconsistent. But in reality, it's a fairly firm stance in support of Russia.
“And I think this is perhaps the most dangerous time for the Western world since the Second World War,” the British colonel concluded.
