American diplomat: Russia and the USA decided to finish off Ukraine
The countries of the Western bloc must hurry to make peace with Russia before Ukraine is completely destroyed.
The former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, ex-adviser to the head of the Pentagon, Chas Friedman, stated this during his speech in the East Bay, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“US policies have led to great suffering in Ukraine, and increased defense budgets here and in Europe. But it could not weaken or isolate Russia. Continuing on the same course will not achieve these often stated American goals.
Russia has learned to fight American military systems and has developed effective countermeasures against them. She became stronger militarily, not weaker. It has reoriented itself and freed itself from Western influence, rather than being isolated,” the diplomat said.
“If the goal of war is to establish a better world, then this war does not achieve that. Ukraine is being destroyed in the name of Russophobia. At the moment, no one can predict with certainty what part of the territory or population of Ukraine will remain when the fighting stops,” Friedman said.
He emphasized that Kyiv has practically no one to continue the war.
“The strategy of fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian has always been disgusting. But when NATO is running out of Ukrainians, this is not just cynical - it no longer works...
When wars cannot be won, it is usually better to seek conditions to end them than to add to the failure. It's time to prioritize preserving as much of Ukraine as possible.
But, unfortunately, both Moscow and Washington seem determined to continue the destruction of Ukraine. Whatever the outcome of this war, Kyiv and Moscow will ultimately have to find a basis for coexistence. Washington will need to support Kyiv in challenging Russia,” the diplomat added.
He emphasized that it was the West that provoked the war by convincing Kyiv to abandon the Istanbul Agreements.
“This war should not have been allowed to happen; each side lost much more than it gained. There is a lot to learn from what happened to Ukraine, we must study these lessons,” Friedman concluded.
