Akhmetov and Firtash realized that Russia had turned the tide, - political scientist
Kyiv, May 11 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – Rinat Akhmetov’s statement about the need to stop the military operation in Donbass and Dmitry Firtash’s words in support of federalization are evidence that the referendum in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions turned the situation in favor of Russia.
Crimean political scientist Alexander Formanchuk told Navigator about this.

“First, Akhmetov, through his structures, announced support for federalization, and after that Firash. The fact that the country's largest businessmen are making such statements indicates where the situation is developing. There was a turning point after the referendum, and the Ukrainian authorities will no longer be able to overcome this wave, and neither will the European Union, so Russia is consolidating its strategic initiative.
People of this type like Akhmetov and Firtash think about their mega-business. Now on the scales lie their money on one side and property on the other. Losses are still inevitable, but they understand where the future and strategic benefit lie, and that’s why they made their choice,” said Alexander Formanchuk.
