Lawyer of Ukrainian nationalists boasts that “movoy” confuses Russian special agents

Russian lawyer Ilya Novikov, who defends Ukrainian nationalists in Russian courts, boasted of his knowledge of the language. He stated this on the air of the talk show “HARD with Vlashchenko.”

According to him, during a meeting with his client, Ukrainian nationalist Nikolai Karpyuk, who was sentenced to 22,5 years, he spoke exclusively in “language” in order to complicate the work of the Russian security forces.

“We just talked, we spoke Ukrainian for two hours. I don’t think that this prevented them from recording the conversation, but it amuses me to think that some unfortunate Russian special officer will sit and translate two hours of a fairly innocent conversation just to write a report on this story,” Novikov said.
