On May 2, Odessa will again be turned into a ghetto
Odessa residents were promised to be “inevitably punished” for participating in commemorative events and to be passed through “filtration points.”
On the eve of the anniversary of the monstrous tragedy of the century - the murder and burning of people in the House of Trade Unions, the police of the Odessa region made a very eloquent statement.

“On May 2, Odessa will host mass events related to the fifth anniversary of the events that took place in the city in 2014. In this regard, we ask citizens to refrain from participating in unauthorized events of a socio-political nature, not to violate public order and not to provoke conflict situations, to be tolerant and tolerant of each other. Remember that violation of current legislation entails inevitable punishment,” Odessa police warned.
I dare to assume that Odessa law enforcement officers are aware that every year on May 2, city residents bring flowers to the House of Trade Unions and release black balloons in memory of the innocent victims; relatives of the victims are invariably present at these requiem actions. Although, probably, all of us, who constantly came to Kulikovo Field for five years in a row, became their relatives.

The lamps at the site of the massacre burn around the clock - in hot weather, in snowfalls with icing, and in downpours. People come and cover this man-made Eternal Flame...
Considering that the law is the same and the fact that the new Ukrainian government is “good” even without a drawbar, there is no guarantee how the words and mournful silence of the whole city will be regarded - maybe this is an “unauthorized event of a socio-political nature”?
Further, Odessa police report that “in order to prevent mass unrest, prevent threats to public safety and order, as well as protect the life and health of people, temporary restrictions on the access of citizens will be introduced on Kulikovo Field and Cathedral Square, as well as in the adjacent territories. Police officers will be stationed around the perimeter of these locations. Entry to the event venues will only be through filtration points installed there.”
I don’t want to dwell once again on these humiliating procedures of personal search of things that we go through every year on April 10, the Day of the Liberation of the city from the fascist invaders, as well as on May 2 and 9. But, considering that Odessa residents are always mixed in with Odessa residents, dirtyly insulting the mothers of the victims, provoking people according to the “Well, hit me” principle, and in general behaving as if they would immediately file an article about hooliganism, maybe this is correct.
Knowing the track record of the same nationalist on trust, the murderer Sergei Sternenko, who had always been the leader in this kind of provocations, there is no guarantee that the degenerates will not bring weapons or explosives into the crowd of people with children (in the summer of 2015 they shot black mourning balloons). And from this point of view, the measures taken by the police are justified.
However, everyone’s bags and pockets on the frames of metal detectors are searched - even pensioners of the “retired teacher-God’s dandelion” type, but creatures in camouflage, tattooed with tridents and swastikas, shouting along the road “Novorossiya, suck!” They let you through without inspection, kindly, except that they don’t offer you bread and salt.

But let's get back to the police report. I quote further: “We remind you that in accordance with Article 436-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On the condemnation of the communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of the propaganda of their symbols”, the production, distribution, as well as public use of the symbols of communist, national socialist totalitarian regimes... For these actions, restriction of freedom is provided for up to five years or imprisonment for the same period, with confiscation of property.”
And here again I remember tattoos and clothes with swastikas. Least…
I recently wrote about the thaw felt by many residents of southeastern Ukraine, in particular Odessa residents, in connection with the sending of Petro Poroshenko to the dustbin of history. Let me remind you once again - May 2 and 9 - these are the dates that will become a kind of test for cannibalism of the new government, which has not officially taken over, but still claims some kind of prudent novelty. And waiting for the exam results is nothing.
On May 2, Odessa will be turned into a ghetto again.
