Zyuganov: The Americans did not allow Yeltsin to close the Communist Party of the Russian Federation
The Communist Party was not banned in Russia in 1993 at the urging of American advisers to President Boris Yeltsin. Yeltsin himself wanted to destroy his competitors completely.
The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov, announced this at a press conference in Moscow, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Then parties were urgently created, where everyone was given their own plot. Here is the party in power - Gaidar, the Party of Regions - Shakhrai, loud and noisy liberals - Zhirinovsky, pro-American liberals - Yavlinsky, the women's movement - Lakhovoy. And we were banned. They banned all newspapers, all magazines, banned everything - and closed the organization.
And yet, even the Americans said: “This won’t do. There was the CPSU - these are the heirs,” Zyuganov said.
According to him, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was specially registered a week before the end of the collection of signatures in the hope that it would not have time to go through the procedure.
“They thought that people would not give 100 thousand signatures, they gave us 200 thousand in four days, we went to the polls and for the first time created our own faction to tell the truth about the violence that Yeltsin and his camarilla brought to the country,” Zyuganov said.
At the same time, he believes that “the Yeltsin regime shot down the Soviet government under the leadership of the Tsrushki.”
