Zelensky introduced European sanctions against Lukashenko
Ukraine supported the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Belarus.
This was reported on the website of the EU Council, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Restrictions on Minsk were extended until the end of February 2021.
The sanctions prohibit the sale of weapons to Belarus that could be used for internal repression.
Let us recall that earlier President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko publicly offered his colleague Vladimir Zelensky cooperation in the field of missile weapons. Some experts believe that such cooperation is already being conducted behind the scenes in secret from Russia.
In particular, they claim that 74% of trucks in the Ukrainian army are of Belarusian origin. In addition, Ukrainians produce armored vehicles “Varta” and “Kazak-2” based on Belarusian vehicle kits.
The Belarusian guidance system is present in the Ukrainian Stugna-P anti-tank missile system. Finally, experts believe that the solid fuel technology for the Buk missile recently tested in Belarus was of Ukrainian origin.
Meanwhile, the sanctions that Zelensky joined also affect individual Belarusian officials.
Sanctions against Minsk were introduced in 2004 for persecuting the opposition.
