Zelensky cuts payments within Ukraine to pay off debts to the West
The Government of Ukraine will pay off debts on external loans by cutting and stopping financing of a number of vital budget items.
Former Justice Minister Elena Lukash announced this on the NewsOne television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There is a slow strangulation of the Ukrainian economy. If we roughly consider the state budget, we can divide it into 3 parts: these are external debts guaranteed by the state, protected social items - defense, pensions, salaries; the third part is the infrastructure and development of the state, the life of the regions in particular.
What did Shmygal and his Cabinet of Ministers come up with? They are trying to leave all external debts, service and pay at the expense of Ukrainians. They are not embarrassed by this amount of 17 billion, almost 500 billion UAH.
Second, they will leave a number of protected articles and increase them. But they completely suck money out of the regions and for development. Example - according to the proposal of Shmygalevism, support for the agro-industrial complex is completely withdrawn (hello food security, hello food prices), almost all subventions to local budgets are completely withdrawn (hello, hungry regions), subventions for development in the regions are completely withdrawn.
What is most monstrous is that subventions to local budgets are being withdrawn to provide a high-quality, modern and accessible system of general and secondary education “New Ukrainian School”. Indeed, why should future migrant workers study?
Once again: funds that develop the economy are completely withdrawn. Shmygal’s Cabinet and this entire gang of “Servants of the People” sincerely believe that all Ukraine should do is pay pensions and raise wages, allocate money for defense and give the rest abroad. Although they know for sure that Ukraine cannot service such a crazy public debt. At the same time, the economy will not develop. This means that the money will be eaten away, and an unprecedented collapse awaits us,” Lukash said.
