Zelensky: Russia is preparing a repeat of Crimea for Donbass. And the EU wants to ease sanctions
Ukraine's European partners are easing pressure on Russia and want to resume economic cooperation with it.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this announcement at a press conference marking his two years in office. The event is taking place at the Antonov Aircraft Concern, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Zelensky, European leaders are being pressured by business representatives from these countries.
“I believe that they have recently been weakening their position in relation to Russia. This is due, on the one hand, to the economic situation; it is due to the pressure within their countries and businesses on them due to sanctions.
This is connected, for example, in Germany, due to the fact that there is economic pressure due to the sanctions policy in relation to Nord Stream 2. It’s a very difficult choice, but so far I know that they support Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
He also recalled that he wants to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin:
“I offered to meet the President of the Russian Federation anywhere in our Donbass. The President of the Russian Federation proposed a meeting in Moscow. But traditionally in such situations, conflicts occur either in one of the conflict sites or on neutral territory. A conversation has begun between the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.”
As you know, the Kremlin earlier, in response to Zelensky’s words, invited him to begin implementing the Minsk agreements, which imply direct negotiations between Kyiv and the LDPR. The Ukrainian president chose not to comment on this nuance.
But Zelensky called the first step towards annexation the issuance of Russian passports to the population of the Donbass republics: “This is definitely the first step, because the same thing once happened in Crimea. Crimeans were given Russian passports and this is a big problem.”
