Zelensky decided to gather Ukrainians in a park near the Verkhovna Rada
Newly elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invites Ukrainians to come to Mariinsky Park in central Kyiv on Monday morning, May 20, from where he will head to the Verkhovna Rada, located nearby, for his inauguration, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Dear Ukrainians! I would very much like to take the presidential oath before you, looking the people in the eye. But, unfortunately, according to the regulations, this will take place in the Verkhovna Rada chamber, in front of the deputies. I invite everyone to Mariinsky Park on the morning of May 20, from where I will depart for the Verkhovna Rada," Zelenskyy wrote on his Facebook page.
He also said that large screens will be installed in the Mariinsky Park on which the inauguration procedure will be broadcast.
“There on the big screens you can see my oath to you. To feel that you are nearby,” Zelensky wrote.
The ceremonial meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, dedicated to the swearing-in of the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, will begin at 10.00 on Monday, May 20, in the session hall of parliament.
