The founder of the Union of Left Forces party, Vasily Volga, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

You need to understand that the Ukrainian military has a conviction in their heads that if the attack is carried out, then all the talk about the fact that there is a ninety-thousand-strong group of Russian troops on the border of Russia and the Donetsk and Lugansk regions will end in nothing. It seems to them that if the Sixth Fleet of the United States of America is stationed in the Black Sea, the Russians will not rock the boat.
