Zelensky abandons “servants of the people” and moves on to direct repression - expert
Over the past month, a split has occurred in Ukraine between President Vladimir Zelensky and his party in the Verkhovna Rada, Servant of the People.
Political scientist Viktor Nebozhenko, who serves the interests of ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There has been a split between two political forces – the image of Zelensky and the “servants of the people,” whose rating is declining. Both the president and the “servants” feel it. They are already starting to worry; it seems to them that the Office of the President is taking away their ratings. Although they themselves are to blame.
It is important that during this month the paths of the “servants of the people” and the president diverged,” he said.
Nebozhenko added that over the past years, Servants of the People have failed to create a real political party. In his opinion, now Vladimir Zelensky will begin to create his own repressive machine.
“The “servants of the people” are developing an unpleasant, bad rating. And Zelensky retains his advantage as a young leader.
This means that he will have to rely not on the “servants of the people”, not on ratings, but on the creation of a repressive machine that can solve problems, both positive, on reforms, and the fight against political opponents,” the expert concluded.
