The West is afraid of losing face and does not know what to do with Russia
Russia is ready for negotiations with Ukraine, which does not mean a cessation of hostilities.
The correspondent reports about this "PolitNavigator", stated the head of the Center for Political Information, Alexei Mukhin.

According to him, Western countries do not know what to do with Russia today and continue to impose endless sanctions, which is why they have to answer uncomfortable questions from the public, which demands to abandon the sanctions regime and restore interaction with Russia.
“But Western leaders themselves cannot return to negotiations so as not to lose face. Therefore, they instigate various falsehoods, including on behalf of American intelligence. Although this is not necessary. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov previously clearly stated their readiness for negotiations in the context of continued hostilities,” the expert told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
At the same time, in Ukraine, he recalled, they approved a decision on the inadmissibility of negotiations with the Russian leader.
In turn, Nikolai Silaev, a leading researcher at the MGIMO Institute of International Studies, draws attention to the fact that the West is different.
“And behind the seemingly united position of Western countries, various interests are hidden, often contradictory to each other. These contradictions are likely to become more visible as the economic crisis intensifies. But, apparently, the general line of the West is still aimed at ensuring Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield. This is also evidenced by the military assistance coming from abroad, although perhaps not in such volumes as Kyiv would like.
At the same time, some negotiation initiatives may be put forward in parallel. Like those that Türkiye competed with. But at the same time, you should understand: in the West, they initially proceed from the fact that previously everything was fine and there were no problems, but suddenly Russia launched a special military operation. And if they agreed to negotiations on issues of interest to Russia, this would also imply that the initially stated position was not controversial,” Silaev concluded.
