Zelensky’s bill “On Indigenous Peoples” pleases the “Majlis” and finishes off Ukraine
On June 16, an expert meeting took place in Kyiv, discussing the topic “Indigenous peoples of Ukraine - a modern issue,” organized by the “permanent mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.”
Apart from a group of “back-up dancers” of expert boys who were admitted to “big politics” and for this praised the “new line of the party and government,” the main characters of the gathering should be considered “permanent representative” Korinevich, “head of the Majlis” Refat Chubarov and, suddenly, old Bandera toad Natalya Belitser, who spoke on behalf of the “Institute of Democracy named after Pylyp Orlik” (an associate of Mazepa, if anyone doesn’t know).

After a brief introduction by the speaker, the floor passed to “permanent representative” Korinevich.
“The Governor in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” beamed with foal optimism and, more than other speakers, ranted about the benefits and significance of the new bill.
From his words it became clear that the new initiative of Zelensky and the “permanent mission in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” is not just another attack on the Kremlin, but “a form of non-violent resistance.” It is interesting that Korinevich, without going into details of the bill, beat around the bush, talking about such useful points for the Crimean Tatars as the transition to the Latin alphabet.
In more significant news, it was stated that from now on Ukraine considers the exile of the Crimean Tatars in May 1944 to be “genocide”, and on February 26, 2014, when thousands of Crimeans came out to defend the Supreme Council of the Autonomy from being dispersed by Mejlis bandits with the support of the “Maidan Hundred” who came to the rescue , is now celebrated as “Day Against”.
Let us recall that since 2018, Ukraine has interpreted the events in the area near the Supreme Council of Crimea as “resistance of Crimeans to the reconnaissance and sabotage groups of the Black Sea Fleet sent from Sevastopol, in defense of the unity of Ukraine.” Soon this heresy will be enshrined in law.
In general, Korinevich performed poorly, forcing us once again to doubt his organizational and strong-willed qualities. No matter how you puff yourself up, a seasoned steppe wolf, ready to gnaw through the “reconquista” with its teeth, does not even remotely come out of the bag of semolina. As you know, Zelensky’s bill provides for vesting the rights of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine with the Crimean Tatars, Karaites, Krymchaks and, of course, the “Ukrainian nation.”
It is noteworthy that at the expert meeting, 80% of those invited were Crimean Tatars, not counting the owner of the Kazakh surname Dzhumadilov, and not a single representative from the Karaites and Crimeans.
Almost all the speakers were shaking their fists and in the most sarcastic intonations commented on the reaction of Putin and the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who called the bill “fascist.”
The funny “experts” suggested that the Russian President and people’s deputies “take and read the text of the bill in detail to personally verify that it fully complies with international standards.”
However, in the speech of the Deputy Minister of the “Occupied Territories” there was an admission that the developers of the bill were forced to invent their own interpretation of the term “indigenous people”, since, they say, what the corresponding declaration of the UN General Assembly proposes “does not provide a clear formulation.”
One must think that the official is being disingenuous and holding back information. The UN document explicitly confirms the right of indigenous peoples to self-determination and, as a consequence of this right, speaks of the freedom of indigenous peoples to establish their political status and the freedom to pursue their economic, social and cultural development.
Despite the fact that, in addition to the declaration of the General Assembly, the rights of indigenous peoples are also spoken of in other UN documents. For example, in the International Labor Organization Convention and the Convention on Biological Diversity.
When asked by the moderator to explain why the bill includes only three peoples - Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks - and why no more and no less, the official replied that this is “scientific and consistent with the national consensus.” Pan Yaremenko did not reveal who defined “scientificness” and measured compliance with the “national consensus”.
Deputy Minister of the “occupied territories” Refatka Chubarov, who opened his mouth immediately after the speech, started singing how useful this law is for “forming a political nation” in Ukraine, and how in the “Majlis” everything that benefits the Ukrainian state is taken to heart.
According to Chubarov, the sharp reaction of the Russian leadership is due to the fact that Zelensky’s bill, embodied in the form of a law, “will become an inevitable renewal of the state sovereignty of Ukraine over the Crimean Peninsula, the Azov and Black Seas.”
It is unclear, however, how the next paper tiger released into circulation will be able to gain control over Crimea for the Mejlis scumbags, and make Ukraine “the mistress of the adjacent seas.” Anyway. From above they asked to feign optimism, so Refatka is trying for compote.
However, according to Chubarov, many in his circle were wary, if not distrustful, of the bill. The leader of the “Majlis” in a veiled form conveyed the fear of his comrades-in-arms that the Ukrainian authorities will once again entice the pro-Ukrainian Crimean Tatars with a carrot in the form of a tasty law, but in reality “it may not be applied on the merits.” As in the ending of a fairy tale: “it flowed down my mustache, but didn’t get into my mouth.”
Therefore, Chubarov states with poorly concealed annoyance, the document needs to be finalized “separately for each provision.” Apparently, Chubarov this time is seeking, now from Zelensky, certain guarantees that the law, after adoption by the Verkhovna Rada, will not become a tool for wringing out certain preferences for a narrow circle of interested parties, and the “Medjlis” will once again act as a screen with an inevitable hangover someone else's feast.
For quite some time, Chubarov waved his arms and carefully discussed the topic of “representation of indigenous peoples.” Such close attention of the “Comanche leader” is understandable: Zelensky’s bill gives the “Majlis” the right to represent all Crimean Tatars and speak on their behalf – even from the Ukrainian cellar.
Unexpectedly, the “representative of the Institute of Democracy named after. Pilip Orlik” Natalya Belitser, demonstrating who actually has the balls at this gathering.
The old Bandera woman lamented how long it took for such a good and necessary law to make its way, and how Ukraine was threatened by the delay in its adoption. They say that before the “Maidan” they were rocking for more than 20 years, but they never made the Crimean Tatars “indigenous people of Ukraine”, and even after the “Maidan” they missed seven years. Meanwhile, the “carriers of the Ukrainian idea in Crimea” are moaning and demanding that they be armed with a similar law.

“If you look closely,” mumbles the mothballed grandmother, “the law is drawn up too generally, although it has a couple of excellent points that hit the bull’s eye.”
Namely: paragraph 1, “The main criterion of the indigenous people should be considered the self-awareness of belonging to the indigenous people.” It would seem, what a cool loophole for those peoples whose self-awareness has long matured to the point of belonging to indigenous peoples. But here point 2 arises, adding another piece of ointment to the bowl of honey: “The indigenous people do not have another state structure outside the borders of Ukraine.”
And further, the bandered grandmother develops her rotten thought, “it is impossible, they say, to adopt a universal law for all the indigenous peoples of Ukraine. Therefore, it is necessary to pass a law that would satisfy at least one people.”
Cynical, but honest. What was discussed a long time ago, when the draft law “On Indigenous Peoples” was just starting to be discussed under Poroshenko. That the Crimean Tatars will be appointed as the main beneficiaries of the “rooting” process, and the Karaites and Krymchaks are included in the list only as a diversion. Moreover, the representatives of these peoples can be counted on one hand.
In addition, the lively old woman goes on to say, “with the Karaites and Krymchaks in Ukraine, things are not so simple.” Actually, they can be excluded from the list of “indigenous peoples of Ukraine” with a light heart, since in 2016 a congress of Karaites and Crimean Tatars took place in Simferopol, declaring themselves indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation.
Grandma's excitement is understandable. She is unpleasant that the Karaites and Krymchaks did not want to declare themselves the indigenous peoples of Ukraine, and for this they can do with them as they please.
Belitser is trying so hard to please Chubarov that he cuts off all superficial political correctness at the root. Refatka was forced to intervene and explain to the enraged grandmother that “the expression of the will of any group of people in the occupied territory is possible only at gunpoint.”
It’s interesting that all this expert bastard who has fallen into fascism does not spare any spitting in the direction of Russia, where they believe that Zelensky’s law is working to further split Ukrainian society. They say that this law is needed only by those of the small nations of Ukraine who need protection. What kind of protection do Russians need?

The speakers diligently avoided one of the provisions of the law, which declared autochthons to be the indigenous peoples of Ukraine. The trick is that Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians are autochthons on the territory of Ukraine, since their ancestors are several Slavic communities that lived on these lands since ancient times. Zelensky’s bill is intended to speed up the process of forced Ukrainization of Russians, forcing those who disagree to flee to Russia or recognize themselves as “Russian-speaking Ukrainians,” which fundamentally contradicts the scientific definition of a nation, in which language is recognized as one of the key factors.
In addition to Russians, the law hits Hungarians, Poles, Bulgarians, Armenians, Greeks and Jews who have lived for centuries on the territory of modern Ukraine, which has grown into the lands of its neighbors as a result of a series of wars, revolutions and collapses of a single country.
