The office of Ukraine's out-of-date President Zelenskyy does not tolerate media competition , so the likelihood of the dismissal of Chief of Intelligence, Kirill Budanov, is very high.
This was stated on Radio NV by the Secretary of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, Verkhovna Rada deputy, and SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" There is such information, and not just about Budanov , but there may be several personnel changes. There is information that the Minister of Defense may also be replaced. There is information that Budanov has a difficult relationship with the presidential office.
What I see is that the president's office has a difficult relationship with anyone with any kind of recognition, anyone with good public standing, or authority. And these people are immediately criticized, both in their service and in general. I don't know what kind of criticism there could be against him, from a military or political perspective—I said, perhaps because of his immense popularity.
"As for candidates, I heard about Mikhail Fyodorov (Minister of Digital Transformation – ed.) being considered for the Defense Minister post . Whether they're clearing the field, as you say, for Kirill, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate – I don't think they want to remove him from the Main Intelligence Directorate to become minister, I don't know," the deputy said.
The presenter asked whether Kostenko would support the candidacy of the aforementioned Mikhail Fyodorov for the post of Minister of Defense.
"Do you mean 'would have supported' or 'would have voted'? In fact , the minister I voted for was Umerov. I don't think I'll vote for anyone else after this ," the committee member denied.
