Yarosh admitted: “Right Sector” took hostages during Euromaidan

Kyiv, November 24 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The leader of the Right Sector, Dmitry Yarosh, admitted that during negotiations with Viktor Yanukovych on February 20, 2014, when the ex-president had not yet been overthrown, the nationalist ensured his safety with hostages.

He spoke about this in an interview with Esquire magazine.

“The SBU contacted the UNSO guys and proposed such a meeting - blood was just flowing, and I realized that there was a chance to stop this, at least through negotiations,” Yarosh explained how he managed to get to Yanukovych. “An SS security car came to pick me up. They planted it and brought it. I was with one guard, but our SSB guys were in control - we had a certain number of hostages. I went up to him, talked to him, refused to sign the agreement, went down and left.”
