Yatsenyuk: We are in a catastrophic economic situation
Kyiv, March 11 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The economic situation of Ukraine is catastrophic, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk again admitted.
“I’ll tell you frankly that we are in a catastrophic economic situation,” he said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, adding that Kiev will ask the West to speed up the release of the promised monetary assistance to Ukraine.

Yatsenyuk clarified that the Ukrainian authorities must solve the problem of “a 2-fold reduction in the state budget deficit.”
“We are facing a very difficult period - a reduction in social standards, infringement of payments, but this will give us the opportunity to achieve economic growth in the average economic perspective,” he said, and deputies from the ruling majority supported Yatsenyuk’s words with applause.
