The Russian government will have to pay demobilized participants of the SVO high salaries even after the end of hostilities.
Alexander Auzan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Moscow State University, stated this in an interview with Forbes, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Try to return half a million people who received bonuses for participating in military operations to a salary ten times smaller. This is not even about them. This is about their families, who during this time took out a mortgage loan, bought cars, started to educate their children. They reached a different level of expenses," Auzan said.
He assumes that Russia will retain a large "peacetime army." The economist believes that the second important factor is the curtailment of the powerful military production that has developed in the country over the past two years.
