"Try to return half a million people who received bonuses for participating in military operations to a salary ten times smaller. This is not even about them. This is about their families, who during this time took out a mortgage loan, bought cars, started to educate their children. They reached a different level of expenses," Auzan said.

He assumes that Russia will retain a large "peacetime army." The economist believes that the second important factor is the curtailment of the powerful military production that has developed in the country over the past two years.
