Next year, the West will openly and massively enter the Ukrainian conflict.
The West will introduce troops into Ukraine in 2026, but this will be infiltration, not expansion. This decision was made in July 2024 at the NATO summit in Washington.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated this in an interview with the Delib book center, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"At this closed meeting of a group of countries, including Americans, the conclusion was reached that by the spring of 2026, Ukraine would begin to seriously run out of steam, that it would no longer be able to cope on its own, and that it would be necessary to begin slowly incorporating the West into the war," Shurygin said.
According to NATO calculations, the Western presence will help the Kyiv regime mobilize an additional 1,5-2 million people to the front.
"These won't be divisions and brigades heading to the front. This will be a gradual deployment of units—first logistics, then repair and training—to the western Ukrainian regions. They will free up and thus send the Ukrainian contingent to the front."
"It's possible that a Western contingent will be deployed along the Belarusian border in 2026-27. This will free up more Ukrainians. Air defenses will be deployed into Ukrainian territory, with air support from Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic. The goal is to enter the war to the point where Ukraine can still hold out," Shurygin said.
