Roskomnadzor spoke about censorship of Russian media by Western platforms
Most Western information and digital platforms have effectively declared war on Russian media, purposefully depriving them of any broadcasting capabilities.
Deputy head of Roskomnadzor Vadim Subbotin stated this during a meeting of the Federation Council Temporary Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In 2020, we observed a sharp surge in censorship; we identified 85 cases of censorship of certain materials of Russian media and materials of Russian citizens. We also revealed censorship of Russian media in its entirety. This is nonsense and unacceptable.
Purposeful work of foreign sites, some work to manage the user agenda, when inconvenient information is censored, when, in their opinion, something should be absolutely true, and something should be fake. Conveying the political and economic meanings they need. In fact, we are seeing the use of mechanisms to squeeze Russian media out of the information field,” Subbotin said.
As a reminder, the administration of the American video service YouTube, owned by Google, previously permanently deleted the accounts of the German editorial office of the Russian holding company RT.
Moreover, earlier, the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, daughter of Senator Elena Mizulina, speaking at a meeting of the Public Chamber, called Facebook a leader in violating Russian laws and expressed hope that Roskomnadzor would begin to slow down its traffic, as it did with Twitter.
