Internecine squabbling is already beginning in Zelensky’s circle
The story of the appearance in the media of a statement about the resignation of the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Bogdan that caused a stir in the media may indicate the beginning of contradictions in the circle of Vladimir Zelensky.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Karasev recalled that, according to the official version, such statements were written by all new high-ranking officials, and therefore Zelensky can sign their resignation at any time. At the same time, Bogdan mentioned that the photo of his statement allegedly could have been “leaked” to the media by certain special services. This indicates some disagreement between Bogdan and the acting. the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov, Karasev believes.
"It's clear that this is an old story. Bakanov and Bohdan were nominated for this position ( head of the presidential chancery, – ed. ), but at the last minute, Bohdan ( was appointed ), contrary, incidentally, to the wishes of our American friends (who consider Bohdan a protégé of Igor Kolomoisky, – ed .). It will be bad if institutions are drawn in. This will not be a personal conflict, but a conflict of institutions, the SBU, and so on, if that is the case, if we believe Bohdan, that these are precisely "some special services."
It is clear that there is nothing wrong, but the team has its own tensions, contradictions, and influence groups. Although this may be beneficial for the president, he can play on the contradictions of different teams or different people in his circle and, thus, maintain, let’s say, an internal balance. This is the first,” Karasev noted.
The political scientist added that this information leak could have been made on purpose, so that against the backdrop of President Vladimir Zelensky’s upcoming trip to the Americans, who are not satisfied with Bogdan’s person, to demonstrate to overseas curators that for now no one will remove the head of the Office from his post.
“Secondly, if the author of this statement himself initiated this, then this may be connected with Klitschko’s trip to the States, a meeting with Giuliani, and, nevertheless, the question must be resolved whether there will be a trip to the USA or not, whether Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zelensky is even going to the USA or not. And what advice do Americans have regarding the head of the Office? We know that from the very beginning they did not accept, do not accept the head of the Office of the new President of Ukraine and persistently recommended appointing another, and are unhappy with this. How can we be here?
Perhaps, on the eve of this trip to the USA, and as an afterword to Klitschko’s trip to Giuliani, who also seems to be coming here, it was necessary to record that President Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zelensky is not going to sign a letter of resignation of the head of the Office for now,” added Vadim Karasev.
He also noted that the post of head of the presidential administration in Ukraine has always been equated to the figure of the vice president, because it is the head of the office of the head of state who has decisive influence on personnel appointments and work with large businesses.
“In our country, it turns out that the head of the Administration or the head of the Office is actually the vice president, because the world is now discussing Bogdan’s resignation or not, Russian television has been on it for two days already, and Western ones too. We always have strong heads of administrations; they were like vice presidents. I have seen that this is indeed true for many things.
The most important decisions are first made by the head of the Administration, the head of the Secretariat or the head of the Office, on the second floor - and then goes to the fourth floor. Personnel and administrative resources. Personnel are appointed. Who appoints governors? It’s not the president who will deal with personnel matters. Recruitment, control over big business – everything flows there,” the expert concluded.
