As the press service of the Azov battalion explained, Ukrainian artillery is operating outside the city on the side of Novoazovsk. This is what frightening sounds are associated with here.
“There is no danger to the city,” Azov assures. The press service also stated that the checkpoint at the exit from the city in the Vostochny microdistrict survived yesterday’s battle.
The headquarters of the city's territorial defense stated that the situation in Mariupol is currently under control. “All the military are in their places,” they emphasized here. – The fighting is taking place outside the city – 10-15 kilometers away. The city is protected."
In turn, the commander of the Donbass battalion, Semyon Semenchenko, stated on his Facebook page that he was ready to come to Mariupol.
“With me are several dozen comrades with whom I started back in March and April, a tank captured from the Russians, a couple of armored personnel carriers and mortars with ATGMs. I know that it’s difficult now near Mariupol and the Azov battalion could use our help. At the same time, social networks report the retreat of the Ukrainian military.

According to social media users, workers of some enterprises are “invited” to receive their salaries at checkpoints in the suburbs.

As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday in the Shirokino area - 23 km from Mariupol - a battle took place between the militia and the Azov battalion, as well as border guards.
