About $3 billion has been spent on waging information warfare against the Russian Federation since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine.

These data were provided by Ekaterina Mizulina, a member of the Russian Public Chamber since 2020 and head of the Safe Internet League (SIL), as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Approximately 25-30 million dollars are spent daily on the spread of fake news and disinformation,” she noted. – And one of the most important points is that the goals of the information attack have changed. If at an early stage the main false thesis was related to the fact that Russia is an aggressor country and its goal is to seize Ukraine, now the main thesis being promoted is that Russia is a fascist state... The goal of the campaign was to destabilize internal political life in Russia, to sow panic and chaos among the residents."

After this campaign failed, a new task appeared - the dehumanization of Russians and the formation of the image of Russia as a state that does not shake hands. The second goal is an attack personally on Russian President Vladimir Putin, which billionaire and creator of a network of international organizations George Soros openly stated at the Davos Forum.

Based on these goals, a wave of new information leaks appears. In response, Russian society is consolidating, support for the president is increasing, new heroes of the special operation are appearing, and an active campaign is underway to collect humanitarian aid for the residents of Donbass.

LBI has been analyzing the information war against Russia since the beginning of the special military operation. The results are summed up once a month with a presentation of the results to the public. The latest wave of fakes was timed to coincide with the celebration of Russia Day on June 12, with calls for citizens to take to the streets with pickets and rallies. Moreover, some protest actions were supposed to take place in Russian cities, and in Kherson, on the contrary, on a holiday, everyone was threatened with mass executions in the central square with the goal of subsequently blaming the Russian Armed Forces for this.

In total, since February 24, LBI has counted 13,2 million fakes, facts of disinformation, false reports, as well as calls for violence against Russians and Russians around the world.
