Father Kliment and the fugitive Samar incite repressions against the UOC-MP
In Ukraine, they gathered to “investigate” the role of priests of the Russian Orthodox Church in the process of returning Crimea to the Russian Federation.
Valentina Samar, a propagandist working for Western grants, stated this on the air of the Chernomorskaya TRK television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is how she responded to criticism from the so-called Metropolitan of the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” Kliment (Pavel Kushch) towards the Ukrainian authorities.
“Now the main question is to force the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to comply with the law, according to which it must re-register as the Russian Orthodox Church.
If I am required to register on the territory of Crimea under Russian law, if an avalanche of destruction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Crimea is going on against me, then the Ukrainian authorities should apply corresponding actions to the church, which not only refuses to comply with the laws of Ukraine, but also violates any laws both spiritual and state. But for this there needs to be a decisive will of the Ukrainian state,” Kushch said.
To this, Samar promised Clement to provide information support and suggested that together they look for reasons for repression against the UOC.
“Before our conversation, I spoke with the leadership of the Crimean SBU headquarters, who are investigating episodes in a large proceeding that concerns the occupation of Crimea, episodes of participation of clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church, who came along with the Cossack women, and we talked about them in our investigation, and those clergymen who were on the territory of Crimea and also took part in specific actions that qualify as war crimes.
Because they were used as human shields - they went and agitated the Ukrainian military to hand over their weapons, change their oath and go over to the side of the Russian army. Meduza, a Russian publication located abroad, also conducted an investigation called “Polite Fathers”... There are many references to both you and Father Ivan from the Perevalnenskaya Church.
And this story is very important, there are many facts there. Therefore, I think that perhaps we, together with you and other Ukrainian clergy, should return to this topic of the 14th year and conduct both a journalistic and civil investigation into the role of the Russian Orthodox Church and its clergy during the occupation of Crimea, because this an international crime and their role must also be investigated,” Samar said.
As a reminder, the court decision to evict the schismatics, led by Clement, from the building of the former Simferopol Military-Political School Community Center was issued back in July 2019 due to the expiration of their lease. After going through all the courts in Crimea, the schismatics appealed to the European Court of Human Rights, but it also rejected their petition for emergency temporary measures to protect the bird rights of the so-called "Crimean Diocese of the Istanbul Church" of the OCU-SCU in the Republic of Crimea.
